We exist to serve N-E cancer patients to ensure the best care and treatment

Story

Thank you for visiting our Just Giving Page.

10 Years ago, Kimberly was diagnosed with Breast Cancer and thanks to the medical team in Houston, Texas, family, friends and activPayroll (her employer at the time, and current employer) she's still with us today.

To give thanks to all of those who help fight cancer on a day to day basis, we have all joined together and plan on battling cancer in the year of 2016. Our aim is to raise £10,000 and we can only do that with your help.

In 2016, we will be taking part in ten different charity events, nine of which are in Scotland & the finale will be a skydive in Dubai, U.A.E. where the Morrisons (Kimberly, Greig & Naomi) will take the plunge in aid of a great cause.

The schedule of events is listed below;

1. Newburgh Beach Bash 10K - March.

2. Balmoral 10K - April.

3. Race Night - May.

4. Kimberly will be one of the 24 models for Courage On The Catwalk 2016 - May.

5. Baker Hughes 10K - May.

6. Kiltwalk - 26 Miles - June.

7. Moonwalk - 26.2 Miles - June.

8. ANCHOR Wipeout - August.

9. Skydive - September.

10. Cocktail Evening - To Be Confirmed.

If you wish to participate in any of the above events, please do not hesitate to contact us.

We hope that you can support us, and every penny raised goes straight towards Friends of ANCHOR. The reason behind our choice of charity is due to the fact that the staff & helpers from Friends of ANCHOR supported Kimberly's mum through 13 years of treatment and we sadly lost her in 2012.

'Finding out a loved one has cancer is a complete shock, but nothing in comparison to what it must be like to find out you have it. Even more so when you are living away from your family and friends. Keeping a positive attitude and with the love and support of your family and friends will always help to keep you focused on beating this terrible illness. And that's definitely the case for Kimberly. Her positivity, love of life and fabulous personality brought her through the other side and 10 years on she is back to full health. Modelling for Anchor would be a personal highlight for Kimberly to celebrate beating cancer and I know her Mum, who was such a huge help and inspiration through her illness, and who she sadly lost a few years ago, will be there cheering her on and supporting her along the
catwalk!' - Lyn & Stephen Young.

'I was working with Kimberly in Houston when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Her determination to continue with her normal routine was incredible. Over her treatment we came to understand good days & bad days and when Kimberly would be able to work & when she wouldn't. Throughout all of her treatment Kimberly never failed to miss a deadline & her commitment to keep going was humbling. Several times I checked to see if she needed help and i was firmly told 'I've got this, and Kimberly did'. Kimberly had an incredible inner strength and determination that cancer wasn't going to beat her or take away from her life, she never felt sorry for herself but accepted it as something she had to deal with. I learnt a lot from this time from Kimberly and I proud to have her as a work colleague & now call her a friend' - Sian Odgers.

'I’ve known Kimberly for a long time now and
must say it’s never been boring!! If we are apart for a few months it’s never a problem when do eventually get together as it’s as if it was just yesterday we met!! I’m always chuffed to hear from her as I know they’re will be good times ahead she suffered a great loss in her life when she lost her lovely Mum to cancer but always stayed positive throughout, she is completely dedicated to her husband and daughter and sometimes I wonder where she finds the energy to achieve what she does!! Considering the stressful journey she’s had also having cancer herself, but my goodness she never gives up, I would always drop everything in a minute to help her out if she needed me as I know it would totally be returned back, A true friend!!' - Fiona Culley.

‘Beautiful inside and out Kimberly is not just an amazing wife and mother but a truly amazing friend. Happy to give her time Kimberly always puts others needs before
her own.
I feel lucky to call Kimberly a good friend and am blessed to have known her for 30 years. With her humour and fun loving personality even during the saddest times Kimberly can make you smile.. A genuinely lovely person who wishes the best for everyone Kimberly would be a great addition to the anchor catwalk...’ - Kerrie Watson.

I class Kimberly as a gem person - she really does sparkle as a lovely person - always interested in you even if we've not seen each other for a while it's no difference. She is always upbeat and optimistic about any problems or issues she has ever faced. A lovely, great, happy person that folks would be happy, comfortable and easy to be around (has
a lovely smile to go with all of that)
. – Lisa Baird.

‘Kimberly would make a fabulous model. Her fun
loving personality would carry her down the catwalk.
She's the type of friend that is never too busy when you need her. She's always thoughtful of others feelings, will laugh with you, cry with you, not judge you and never take your friendship for granted. She sees the positive in any situation or challenge and has the ability to lift ones spirit with ease. Her friendship is a gift and I feel extremely lucky to be a recipient of it...’ - Debbie Notman.

‘I’ve known Kimberly Morrison for 3 years now and I
must say she is one of the most positive, fun and caring people I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. Not only is she a role model in her work environment, leading and guiding her team members, but her generosity also continues in her personal life, whether its supporting her family in their everyday life, finding time for friends in moments of need or committing herself to worthy causes. Despite going through some challenging personal circumstances, she has never once lost her smile and remained joyful, always lending a helping hand
and dedicating time to others. Having experienced illness first hand has made her a stronger individual, hence I have no hesitation in believing she would be
a perfect team member of the ladies of Courage On The Catwalk’ - Federica Monacelli.

‘Kimberly and I have been great friends for over 30 years. She is, without a doubt, one of the most amazing women I have ever had the pleasure to meet. Full of empathy, she’s always there when you need her and would always be there for you in a time of need. Even when she was battling with cancer herself, she always stayed extremely positive, upbeat throughout and was still dedicated and supportive to other people's distress. This dedication to others is the reflect of her beautiful mind. She is a wonderful mother, wife, best friend and showed extreme courage to always overcome the difficult times and end up stronger than ever. For these reasons and more, I truly think that she would be a great addition to this team.’ - Denise Vignau.

This page will be updated after every event with photos of the teams & individuals  participating.
