Story
We are competing in the Devizes to Westminster International Canoe Race, the world's longest non-stop canoe race.
It's a very British event: It started in Easter 1948 following a bet in the pub. We are entering the Senior Doubles - the full-on, non-stop marathon race.
Its 125 miles between Devizes (near Bath) and Westminster, equivalent to around 5 back-to-back marathons, using only our arms... though for a bit of variety there are also 77 'portages' (the blue markers on the map below) where we have to haul the boat around locks...
We will be starting on Easter Saturday at 7.00 am and hope to arrive in Westminster by lunch time on Sunday.

We are raising money for Emily Jackson House in Sevenoaks.
It is a home for disabled adults which is run by the Avenues Group. Lucy has been doing voluntary work for Avenues for the last two years, and we are extremely impressed by the work they do to support people in great need in our local community.
Emily Jackson is a group of three houses and they have requested that the funds go towards a specialist outdoor swing to allow all the people they support to benefit from the garden.
Thank you.
