Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Between 7th - 10th August 2014 I will be taking part in an endurance event called the Thames Challenge, raising sponsorship money for the Simon Says charity.

Simon Says is a charity that works with children following a bereavement and has supported the family of my friend and colleague Steve 'Slim' Rawson, following his tragic death in April 2013. Throughout this immensely emotional and distressing life changing period, Simon Says has been able to offer Slim's young family, support and information about how to move on, but never forget.

Simon Says helps hundreds of other families a year, receiving over a 1000 phone calls asking for support. Any money that you are able to donate will assist Simon Says to give assistance to these families when they need it most.

The Thames Challenge will involve me running the length of the River Thames, which is a total distance of 184 miles, over 4 days. The challenge begins at the source of the Thames in The Cotswolds and ends at the Thames barrier in Greenwich. The days are structured so that I will complete 3 back to back ultra marathons of 47, 63 and 47 miles, finishing with 27 miles on the last day through London. As you can appreciate, this is going to be an incredibly difficult challenge for me, but any money raised will be worth the blisters, sweat and tears!

Whether your donation is 50p or £50, any amount of sponsorship you can offer will be greatly received to motivate me on my journey and ultimately assist Simon Says carry out their work which is so important to so many people.
