Story
Starting 7.52am on Saturday 7th May some 35 durable Edrington Staff, including chief executive Ian Curle, will for the fifth year run in relay continually for 24 HOURS around the Edrington site at Great Western Road, Glasgow.
This will raise much needed funds for The Drumchapel Foodbank. Funds raised will be double matched by The Robertson Trust, owners of Edrington.
All proceeds from this event will go to The Drumchapel Foodbank. The Drumchapel Foodbank is a community led project formed in 2014. The Drumchapel Foodbank works to support individuals in the local and wider community experiencing financial crisis.
This can mean an individual is experiencing any of the following types of circumstances,
-A Sanction,
- A sudden loss of income,
- A dramatic reduction in income,
- Leaving their home as a result of domestic violence and crime,
-No access to UK Funds.
We also make considerations for circumstances not listed above.
The support The Drumchapel Foodbank provides includes seven day emergency food and hygiene provision. This is made up of a range of fresh and dried foods. The project also acts as a link to existing community based support services who can stop instances of finical crisis recurring and promote ongoing financial and social inclusion.
