I will be completing 25 Sprint Triathlons in 25 days to mark every year we as a company (Liberator Ltd) have been working to achieve our belief that everyone deserves a voice!

The company I work for (Liberator Ltd) turns 25 years old this year!!

I have worked for Liberator Ltd for the past 4 years and before doing so had no idea what AAC stood for or even that there was a need for it; so I feel the need to do my bit in making people aware of what we do and of course celebrate the 25 years Liberator has been doing this for.

AAC stands for Augmentative and Alternative Communication and is defined as “an umbrella term that encompasses the communication methods used to supplement or replace speech or writing for those with impairments in the production or comprehension of spoken or written language.” Yes this means that there are people out there that unfortunately are unable to communicate using their voice due to many different reasons. To name but a few Motor Neurone Disease, Cerebral Palsy, Learning difficulties, a severe head trauma, the list goes on.

As a company we constantly strive to succeed in our belief (which I’m sure is yours too), that everyone deserves a voice. We do this through providing high/low tech AAC devices and language systems to the people that unfortunately require them. This is what Liberator Ltd has done for the last 25 years and this is what we will do for the next 25 years.

I would personally like to do something to thank Liberator Ltd for all the hard work it has done over the last 25 years for its clients and also for being a great company to work for; so I will be facing my own challenge of doing 25 Sprint Triathlons in 25 Days!

Starting on the 8th August 2016 I will be swimming 750m, biking 20km and running 5km everyday up till and including 1st September 2016. I will be breaking this up throughout the day as unfortunately I still have to work, so if anyone would like to join me either before work, on my lunch break or after work please do.

I will be raising money for a charity called Communication Matters (http://www.communicationmatters.org.uk/) and would really appreciate any donations.
