Story

The first thing people tell you about achieving a healthier lifestyle is to drink more water, which is why we are taking up this challenge in name of the wonderful, if little known, charity; the Urostomy Association. That means no wine, coffee, tea or coke - only water - for the whole of October! Last year we lasted 30 day so this year we are going 1 better!

Who is the Urostomy Association?

It may sound silly, but the majority of us take it for granted that we can go to the toilet naturally. Bladder problems is not a subject that is openly discussed.
This is why there is a general lack of public knowledge about what it is like to be living with a urinary diversion - a procedure that allows people who are unable to drain their bladder naturally to take control of their condition and maintain dignity.
The procedure may be necessary for people with congenital birth malformations, Multiple Sclerosis and those living with spinal cord injuries. Also for prostate, bladder and bowel cancer patients.

The Urostomy Association offers essential emotional support and reassurance to anyone who may be about to have, or has already undergone a procedure, and the people closest to them.
