We support serving & ex RSIGNALS soldiers to keep our heroes out of hardship

Story

Ex Kiwi Connect

Over 180 service personnel from 3DSR will be participating in a 48 hour gruelling challenge, consisting of riding the combined distance of nearly 19,000km which will be from Picton Barracks in Bulford all the way to Linton Camp, New Zealand.

The charity event will include the use of 15 Watt Bikes where each person will cycle just over 100km over a certain amount of time, this equates to hit our target of each person completing a minimum of 25km per hour; the event will run straight through for a 48 hour period.

The relevance of the cycle to Linton Camp, New Zealand 1st Brigade Headquarters dates all the way back to WW1 when New Zealand soldiers were based out of Bulford Camp awaiting repatriation. While they were stationed here, they carved a kiwi in chalk on Beacon Hill which still stands today.

The RSBF helps Signallers past and present and their families. We believe that charity starts at home and we provide grants that enable critical support solutions to be put in place. This is an active charity that has made life better for thousands of Signallers and their dependants. Through the RSBF we can give something back to those who have made sacrifices for their Corps and country.

Good luck to everyone involved!
