Story
Riding in aid of Simon’s Heroes, a charity based in Tamworth that raises money for local children with life limiting illnesses for things that will enrich their lives, The Cyclopaths are training together for the first time to take on the Peak Pioneer 45 mile mountain bike challenge on 10 July 2016 in the Derbyshire Peak District.
Simon’s Heroes is a registered charity run by volunteers (none takes a salary) and all donations go to local causes. The charity does not give out cash, but instead arranges for the purchase and installation of specialist equipment and facilities to help support the needs of local children and ensure all donations are put to good use. You can find out more about Simon’s Heroes on their website or click on the link on this page: www.simonsheroes.org.uk
Now meet The Cyclopaths:
Marta Tilley is a dab hand at stunt riding downhill, specialising in flying over the handlebars on long descents, so will be well padded in readiness for the unexpected.
Cheryl Butcher has been dedicated to training for a body building event and now switches her muscle power to cycling, with those peaks paling into insignificance as she is sure to power her way along
Emma Ivins is a relative newcomer to cycling, so this represents a massive challenge for her first cyclosportive, but she’s a very determined character and with newly acquired upholstered shorts will be ready for the challenge
Donna Marsden is better used to participating in road sportives and switches to off-road for the first time. A recent tumble means she will be well kitted out with knobbly tyres and body armour to help lessen the impact.
These are The Cyclopaths and we hope you will support them as they aim to raise funds for a very worthy cause – Simon’s Heroes
