Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Firstly I would like to say a massive thank you to every single one of you who have supported me in 2014 / 2015 and for those looking to help again this year. Without your help the work that has been done at the orphanage of Hogar de Fe wouldn't have been possible.
So far the money has been used to to help towards nearly 1/3 of the cost of a new laundry room to help make the orphanage more sustainable and bring a better quality of life to the orphans that live there.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Ok so on to the bit you want to know, how much pain I am soon to be in...
Let's just remind you all this is a 12 mile obstacle course set up by British Special Forces to test strength, endurance and mental determination. There are 25 obstacles throughout the course and for people who have done it before we have an extra mile to go...literally, with 1 more mile and another 5 obstacles. These include mud miles (like the photo above), carrying logs, climbing 10-12ft high walls, running through fire, crawling under barbed wire, jumping into containers full of iced water and running through 1000 live wires with 10'000 volts just for a laugh!
There are new obstacles they have introduced, and let's just say they are designed for those who are not vertically challenged.
If that's not bad enough, I have done what is potentially a career limiting decision and roped my boss Daniel into doing this with me. If this goes wrong I may be unemployed.
Please can I ask for your support to help the orphans with providing a better and more sustainable life in such a tough 3rd world. These children are always so happy even when they have nothing. When they get to 18 they have to leave and cope in the real world. If they don't get the best start they end up in slums, on the streets or in gangs. It would mean a lot to me and to all of these less fortunate children to give them as much help as you can. This is a very special project for me as I am adopted and makes me realise how fortunate I was. From pennies to pounds it all helps.
If you want to come and watch just leave me a message and I will send you the details. Also if you're feeling brave / stupid why not do it next year with me!
Thanks for your time and support again.
