Story

Thanks for visiting our fundraising page.

We all know, have heard, or read about someone who has been affected by this terrible illness.  We are 4 Kent ladies who have decided to get on our bikes and take some positive action in the fight against breast, ovarian and cervical cancers:

Cycling as team: 50+ Shades of Pink will be part of an amazing group of women tackling the sixth Women V Cancer Challenge.  We will be challenging ourselves as part of a women only team of cyclists riding through Vietnam and Cambodia to support the work of three charities: Breast Cancer Care, Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust and Ovarian Cancer Action.

We will cycle around 400Km (248 miles) over 6 days – both on and off road – experiencing rural Vietnam and Cambodia, away from the tourist’s trails and hotspots. It will be a journey full of fun, friendship and incredible support as women of all ages and from all walks of life come together to challenge themselves for a great cause.

As well as training hard we need to raise a minimum of £3,200 each (£12,800 collectively) to support the work of the Women v Cancer charities and we are asking family, friend’s local people and companies to help us reach our target.

We will be updating a blog, which will include pictures. This way you can follow us every step of our journey from the start of our training to the finish line - The magnificent entrance to the ancient city Angkor.

Cancer affects many of us (1 in 3, in fact). We've all lost family and friends to the disease, and have also watched people care for loved ones stricken by it.

We also know many survivors, currently in remission or cured, who would not be alive without the dedication and brilliance of the scientists, doctors, nurses and support workers who battle cancer on a daily basis. We all know that these people need more resources to develop kinder, safer, more successful treatments, to prolong and save more lives.

Please consider donating to Women v Cancer on our behalf. You can donate here through Justgiving using PayPal or credit card. You can donate once, or as many times as you like, as much or as little as you wish. Every penny will help.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to donate: Women v Cancer gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

Together, we will beat cancer.

Thank you to everyone for your support, we can't do this without you..

Team 50+ Shades Of Pink.... Bev, Carol, Christine and Wendy x
