Story
Hi everyone!
Debz, Harry and Angela are joining a group of students and staff from Salford University (in the mighty North!) to raise money for a trip to Uganda in September 2012 to take part in a HIV testing/awareness program (through sports coaching) with the charity Teams4U.
So to do this they are embarking on an epic challenge at the beginning of May to ride through 5 countries in 4 days!! This is a total of almost 500 miles and over 120 miles each day. The route will start in England and then we will cycle to Scotland, Northern Ireland, Eire, Wales and back to England. A rough itinerary is as follows (and we have to stick to it otherwise we'll miss our ferries!!)
Day 1: Manchester - Carlisle
Day 2: Carlisle - Cairnryan (overnight ferry to Belfast)
Day 3 - Belfast - Dublin (overnight ferry to Holyhead)
Day 4: Holyhead - Manchester
This will involve a couple of uncomfortable nights trying to catch some shut eye in ferry terminals and on ferries!
We would really appreciate anything you can donate to this great cause - as Debz can vouch that its a tough 4 days!! But is all worth it to see the difference a similiar trip made back in 2011 - and hence we're putting ourselves through it again (check out the pictures to view the pain!).
Thanks for taking the time to visit our page, and here's the blurb below:
