We Campaign, lobby, shape policy & practice to End domestic abuse

Story

In Scotland currently, at least 1 in 5 women will experience domestic violence in their lifetime.

Scottish Women's Aid is the lead orgnisation in Scotland working towards the prevention of domestic abuse - something they have been doing for 40 years this year. They play a vital role campaigning and lobbying for effective responses to domestic abuse, alongside supporting the work of local Women's Aid groups that make up the membership of SWA.

Violence against women is never acceptable, and should never be tolerated or justified. Scottish Women's Aid works towards a world free from domestic abuse in all its forms, with the firm belief that this is not a dream, but a possibility. Your donation today goes towards building that world free from domestic violence.

Most of you will know that I am not a great runner, that it doesn't come naturally to me. And, as such, running a half marathon is going to be pretty challenging - it's certainly never something I could have imagined myself doing a few years ago. However, it is by no means as challenging as the situations those turning to SWA and its member organisations for support may find themselves in. Your support goes not only to getting me round the 20 kilometre course, but changing attitudes, and changing lives.

Personally, and on behalf of Scottish Women's Aid, THANK YOU.
