St Cuthbert's Way Expedition - Hunter & Oliver - July 2015, 10 July 2017

Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page, set up especially to raise funds for the Borders Children's Charity, as part of a personal challenge taking place this month ....

Hunter and Oliver, two English senior school students, have organised an independent expedition along St Cuthbert's Way, a route which runs between two ancient monastic sites - Melrose Abbey in the Scottish Borders and Holy Island (Lindisfarne) in Northumberland.

Over three consecutive days in July 2015, the two will be walking on this route from the centre of Melrose, across the Scottish / English border, to the town of Wooler, then travelling by car to visit Holy Island. They will be camping each night along the way, learning about the local history and visiting significant geographical sites. This enterprising "trek" will provide not only a physical challenge, but will also be an interesting and valuable experience, affording a significant opportunity for each to gather material and insights relevant to their personal interests and studies.

In addition to this experience benefitting and challenging each of them, both Hunter and Oliver would like their expedition to provide a means of helping others. Therefore, as they will be carrying out their expedition in the Borders region, Hunter and Oliver have chosen to support the Borders Children's Charity and would appreciate your generous donations to this very worthy cause. The money raised through this fundraising page will all go towards helping disadvantaged and struggling children in the area where the two students will be conducting their walk, along St Cuthbert's Way. Thus, by choosing to give to Borders Children's Charity, the students are ensuring that the local community will benefit directly from their adventure.

Hunter and Oliver would be delighted if you could help them to make a considerable gift to the many children in need who live near St Cuthbert's Way. Please give as much as you can, and please do so right now ... the expedition is only days away!

With sincere thanks.
