This is the first time I have ever fundraised money for a charity on my own. There are a lot of big issues out there, and some with arguably greater importance than others. This is a particular issue that I feel quite passionately about. 

Elephants are great creatures, whose endangered classification needs protecting. The STE concentrates its funding in 2 broad ways. The first is to help finance those on the ground in Africa that dedicate their lives to protecting elephants and their environments. The second is the continuous education of populations in countries such as China (and other Asian countries) that still engage in the trade of Ivory. The latter is of course the predominant driver of the brutal slaughter of elephants which is slowly leading to the demise in their numbers across Africa. After my half marathon earlier this year, I wanted to challenge myself even further, so I decided to move up a few levels. It has not been easy, but I have been working very hard to get my fitness up to the necessary level for just under 2 months now, and the triathlon will be especially challenging for me given that my swimming capabilities were more or less non existent before my training started. My goal is to just finish. If I am able to do it under 4 hours, it would be  a great bonus. My target of £3000 is fairly modest, but given that my triathlon is only a few weeks away, hopefully I can get enough donations to hit my target. Nothing is too little, and anything is hugely appreciated.
