Story

Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

By Donating through JustGiving not only are you helping to change lives & keep people safe, it is also the safest method for you to donate, because everything is secure and there is no third party shenanigans (In other word they will never sell your details)

When I was a child I used to dream all the time..............

I thought life was simple, easy to figure out, things became tough at home and I ran away, my word did I come down with a bump.

This was the 90's so things were very different back then (OMG I sound really old) but one thing has always remained............

The kindness and solidarity that the homeless people showed me when I was on the streets, was amazing, that I will never forget, I was 15 years old and they kept me safe.

This is the thing that people don't ever see, which upsets me.

They once had a different life, homeless people are not scary, they are hurt confused and alone. Some had a family married with children, some even had a huge house with high powered jobs, or they were just like me, an average Joe who had hit very hard times through no fault of their own. They all have stories to tell and heartbreaking too.

One thing became apparent to me as I went on this journey as a teen, although my life was tough at home, I had to go back home otherwise I would never reach any of the people I had grown to care about so much.

That was a huge turning point in my life at 15.....imagine that, so young.

But that's the thing about this story from my youth, I had the CHOICE to be able to go back home, so many don't, millions in fact.

This is why I have decided to sleep outside in the freezing temperatures, on my Birthday with some homeless people. To give them clean, warm clothes, some hot food, and company.

This sleep out is also to highlight what is actually going on in our society today, and that these people need vital assistance now to keep them alive. I can do this via a charity I found in an article I read many months ago, they are amazing and true angels called The Biscuit Fund.

Not only do they assist anyone in need, they assist homeless people by feeding them and giving advice. However they more importantly prevent this from happening to families by saving their homes when finances get tough.

Here is the initial article I found, and their website:

I know many right now are financially suffering and if this is you, please just share this like mad to raise awareness of the fund and their valuable work x

Some Facts

I find it heartbreaking that between the years of 2010-13 homelessness increased by 62% I bet it has risen far far more now, just take a good look around when you are out next in your town :(

Then if you think the Childrens mental health services have been reduced by £50.000.000 since 2010, (Link below to article) no wonder children are unable to focus in education, build relationships with their peers, and it's probably why schools are finding it hard to recruit teachers. My heart goes out to the parents and families

Please watch my video, and share this as much as you can, much love and respect as always
