Story
We will be cycling from Parc Eirias in Colwyn Bay on Saturday the 16th July 2016 and arriving (all being well?!) at The Principality Stadium on Sunday the 17th July, having stopped over in Llandrindod Wells overnight.
The ride is seeking to raise £6,500.00 for the Welsh Rugby Charitable Trust (WRCT), a charity that supports players who have been severely injured playing the game that we are all heavily involved in. WRCT has a particular resonance for Brecon RFC as is has provided practical support and essential mobility equipment for two of our injured players, Peter Pies Welsh Rugby Hero, Andy Lewis, and Brecon's World Number 1 ranked table tennis player, and aspiring paralympian, Rob Davies.
WRCT has provided practical assistance to both Rob and Andy over the years, which has enabled them both to get on with their lives, achieve success in their fields and, importantly, to play an active role in the community. Additionally, and to highlight the community attachment to the Trust, support was provided in its early days for popular local teacher, and former player and coach (and 1970's Neath stalwart), the late Keith Morris.
Bearing this in mind, Martin Keylock, Colin Evans, Andrew Boxhall, Andrew (ALP) Lewis, Ian Griffiths, Brian Pritchard, Sophie Pritchard, Julian Edwards, Eric Hughes, Jonathan Morris, Jonny Bowen, Scott Edwards, Al Taylor, Simon Wood, Darren Jones, and Paul Wesley, all with connections to the club, and Rob and Andy, are representing Brecon in this worthwhile event.
As a collective, we are looking to play our part in raising funds for this event, and are calling upon the support of the community, and further afield, to help us reach our funding goal.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and please feel free to share this on any social media you can.
IMPORTANT! If you do feel able to support this event, please don't forget to tick the "Gift Aid' box that will ensure that WRCT gets full benefit from your kind contribution (with the support of HMRC).
