As you will know, Abby Webb (Nugent 09) passed away last December – a few of us were at her funeral and, as a House, Nugent have been fundraising to send a cheque to the Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospital for the research fund in which her consultant, Eric Lim, is involved.

The current Nugent girls didn’t know Abby, but we have photo collages of your years as well as a collage of Abby’s involvement at Stowe and I have told her story to them all. They have raised money in a number of ways – movie nights, hill runs by the Gothic Temple, cake sales, and one girl has even raised £500 by having her hair cut! Our total is about £3,500 and now we get to the part of how you can help us…

We want to buy a bench and put it outside Nugent. Abby’s parents will be putting a commemorative plaque on it; I would like to ask you if you would be prepared to help fund it? The Old Stoic Society will give us some money and we can use part of our fundraising but we still want to send money to the research fund too. I am hoping that the bench could be a gift from Nugent girls, new and old!
