Story
I am helping raise funds for the newly-established Cambridge Islamic College. There has been significant effort in purchasing this building, previously a Methodist Church, to raise the next generation of ulama who are well versed in academia and the Islamic Sciences, but are also working professionals and contribute to the society, under the supervision of our dear Shaykh Mohammad Akram Nadwi (Official). The bid on the building has been successful but if we do not raise £400,000 in the next few weeks, we run the risk of both losing the building and also the amount payed so far (£400,000).
Please help this noble and unique cause.
Cambridge Islamic College aims to produce a generation of independent Islamic scholars and thinkers who are, at the same time, working professionals contributing to the wider society. It puts particular emphasis on attracting bright, capable students who are already professionals or on the way to becoming professionals. It expects its graduates to be active as role models in their communities, respected both for their knowledge of the religion and for the flexibility, realism, and independence of mind with which they apply it. In this way, they will inspire others to combine the practice of Islam with a positive concern to use their personal and professional skills for the benefit of the whole society.
