Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As many of you may know my husband Abel died at home on Monday 9th May 2016 following a four year fight against cancer. He was 41 years old. He was incredibly brave and optimistic and never lost his sense of humour despite three brain operations and symptomatic ups and downs. I am so proud of him.
His last few weeks were spent at home surrounded by his loving family. This wouldn't have been possible without the dedication and compassion shown by the Hospice at Home nurses from the Shakespeare Hospice, our local Stratford team of district nurses, Occupational Therapists, Marie Curie and a wonderful GP. Abel had also attended the Shakespeare Hospice on a weekly basis and made some great friends whilst receiving physical and emotional support there. As a family we have taken part in many of their fundraising events such as the Santa Run and the Colour Blast.
It is with this in mind and in his memory that a donation to the Shakespeare Hospice would be fitting to say a massive thank you to all the staff and volunteers there and to ensure that other families suffering with cancer receive the same exceptional care that we did.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts,
Amanda, Elliot and Maya XXX
