As many of you know I took a sabbatical last year from work to be a volunteer in Tanzania, Africa to work with Umoja to help build and support their financial management capabilities. I have now decided I want to go back to Tanzania to volunteer again with Umoja on a longer term assignment. 

Umoja looks to empower and educate young people from impoverished backgrounds. Their mission is to enable young people to gain skills, knowledge and confidence to enter dignified employment, support their families and lead healthy lives free from exploitation. 

It truly was an inspirational time in my life. I learnt so much in my time there and felt a real connection to the work being done that helps to better people's lives.  I met some amazing people and have been really taken back by the stories I heard about students and their home lives and knowing I can do so much more to help! I want to be part of this journey. This is the reason why I want to go out again. 

I will be leaving my job as a Deputy Director of Finance to be a full time volunteer from January 2017! PLEASE support my cause!
