Story
"To conquer this devastating illness it is vital that we
continue to instigate innovative, gold-standard research. Your support today will make all the difference to what we can achieve. Thank you so much for whatever help you can give."
Clare Francis MBE, Action for M.E. President
People with M.E. are at the heart of our research.
In a survey carried out by the University of Newcastle in 2015, 1,100 people affected by M.E. identified 4 key areas where they felt research was needed. It is these that we have used to inform our research priorities:
- To achieve a better understanding of the cause(s) of M.E.
- To develop more effective treatments
- To achieve faster and more accurate diagnosis
- To increase the amount of research that includes and
focuses on severely affected patients
Together, we can stop M.E. stealing lives.
By donating to the Action for M.E. Clare Francis Research Fund you will be helping us to fund the research needed to better understand the nature of this debilitating disease, offer faster diagnosis and better treatments to those affected and improve the lives of the estimated 250,000 people living with M.E. in the UK.
With your help, Action for M.E. will issue a call for new research projects in early 2016. Our intention is to fund the innovative research needed to deliver on our research priorities.
Research into M.E. is ‘a field ripe for discovery’, but we
need more funds to unlock the answers.
Donate today to help us stop M.E. stealing lives.
