Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My sister, Sarah Wheeler, suffered from profound and debilitating mental illness most of her adult life. In the final years of her life, with the support of her friends, she overcame her illness and used her experiences and extraordinary natural talents to found Mental Fight Club. Its mission is to put on imaginative events for people of all mental experience. It's events seek to connect our inner and outer world to ourselves to one another, whoever we may be.

Sarah, despite her illness, was at heart very creative, smart, sassy and insightful. She inspired many others, and though MFC and its major project the Dragon Cafe http://dragoncafe.co.uk/ helped many people to live better lives though engaging their creativity and imagination.

She was an inspiration to me. It is a terrible thing she died so young, at the age of 52, and at a time when she was making such a big difference to the lives of others as well as finding peace in her own life for, perhaps, the first time.
