Story
Every year I fundraise to raise money for a number of different charities and groups this year I am planning a big fundraiser. My biggest to date to try and support two massive projects.
A working trip to Africa—To help support a deaf school in Africa. Myself: KIRILYNN, a care staff: ALISA DELLOW, two teachers: EMILY BARTON & MICHELLE FLANNERY, the school nurse PAULA BARTLETT, three 6th formers: MAX TAUCHER, CAMERON LEVY POLLOCK, CLAUDIA DAVIES and a parent: GEORG TAUCHER will be going over next October to help work at the school for 10 days. Whilst we are there we plan to buy a new cooking pot as well as to cook and help with the children at the school. In the past I have fundraised to helped buy new chairs as well as feed the school breakfast for two weeks. This time I plan to help physically by going over to meet the staff and the children. I plan to take over a games chest of activities for the children as well. This is a great opportunity to the three 6th formers going over with me too, opening up a wealth of real life experiences and the chance to help others practically: the 6th formers are apart of the planning and fundraising they are helping me every step of the way as this is their journey and one that will help develop key life skills for themselves.
Fitness trail—This is to help with the wellbeing and fitness of the young people at Mary Hare. An outside fitness trail based near the youth club to create a cool outside space for the young people at Mary Hare to enjoy as well as Happy Days that use the youth club too.
Events to help raise the money—As you can imagine these projects need help to fund them and I am aiming to raise a minimum of £15,000. I am excited and nervous at the same time as this is the biggest amount that I have ever tried to raise so I have a year’s worth of fun planned to help us along our way:
Monday 9th November—Sing A long Hairspray raised over £150
Sunday 13th December —Christmas Bazar raised over £220
Monday 14th December—Winter Wonderland raised over £160
Monday 8th February — Sing a long raised over £100
Wednesday 10th February - Bring and buy sale raised over £270
Saturday 20th February - Quiz raised over £170
Sunday 20th March - chocolate and craft market raised over £500
Friday 6th—Sunday 8th May—Wales Land sea & air walk raised over £800
Saturday 21st May - Jumble sale raised over £260
Saturday 18th June - Table Top sale over £200
Sunday 3rd July —Summer Fayre over £1000 for the Africa appeal
I will also be holding cake sales, bring and buy events as well as raffles, tombola’s and other events to help support the two fundraising projects. Any help or support with the above will be gratefully received.
I will be keeping a fundraising blog on our website www.colesdiner.co.uk where you can read more about what we are doing or visit www.justgiving.co.uk/Africa-Trail
Kind regards Kirilynn
