Story
I'm 10 years old and live in Bromley. Sofia House is a Home for orphan girls in Pakistan. It was started by my Aunty Nina and I know a lot about it. The Home makes many girls happy because it gives them a loving home and a chance to go to school just like me. Many of the girls would have had very difficult lives if not for this Home.
I would like to do some bicycle rides to collect money for them. I have already been preparing myself for the longer rides since February because I want to know that I can do the rides successfully. I rode 15 miles on the 7th February, 20 miles on the 28th February, 37 miles on the 17th April and 65 miles to Brighton on the 1st of May. The 37 and 65 mile rides were the hardest but I did not give up even though my dad asked me if I wanted to, especially when we were riding up long hills in Kent and Sussex. I did get down and walk up some of the steeper and longer hills.
I was able to finish the 65 mile ride to Brighton in 11 hours and 45 minutes which included our lunch break. On the 4th of September, I'll be doing the final ride for the orphanage. It will be a 33 mile ride from London to Windsor.
I hope you will be able to donate what you can to Millie Mittoo. The money will make a real difference to the lives of the girls who live there. Thank you for reading this and more importantly for donating and supporting this charity.
