Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My good friend (and mentor) Steve Williams fought like a lion against  a particularly viscious form of cancer, mesothelioma.  He showed great courage and an amazing spirit.  He is now at peace.  In his final weeks he was being looked after by his wonderful loving family and the excellent folks at St. Michael's Hospice - a registered charity specialising in palliative care.

Please visit their web page at www.stmichaelshospice.org to see who they are and what they do.  As with all such worthy organisations they rely on charitable donations in order to remain operational and continue their work.

This challenge is being undertaken in honour of Steve Williams - one of life's genuine Gentlemen.

Please, if you can, support these wonderful people, and spend the majority of 2016 following my exploits, pain, misery, training cock-ups and racing triumphs as I take on all four of the Centurion Running (www.centurionrunning.com) 50 mile trail Ultra Marathons in the inaugural 50 Mile Grand Slam.  Please feel free to point and laugh at every occassion.  The events are summarised below:

April 9th - South Downs Way 50, 5700ft of climbing and a 13 hour cut off.

May 14th - North Downs Way 50, 5500ft of climbing and a 13 hour cut off.

September 17th - Chiltern Wonderland 50, 5800ft of climbing and a 13 hour cut off.

November 26th - Wendover Woods 50, 9500ft of climbing and a 16 hour cut off.
