Thank you for taking the time to donate!
I'm a long time supporter of Mission Aviation Fellowship and I'm looking forward to the opportunity to publicise their work and raise some money to help them. I'm also an aircraft engineer and appreciate what it takes to keep a fleet of aircraft flying.
Mission Aviation Fellowship were founded after the Second World War by Christian people with a vision to use aviation to meet the needs of people all around the world, physical and spiritual.
Often MAF are the lifeline for remote communities in the most inaccessible parts of the world. MAF are sometimes the first to arrive into natural disaster damaged areas where they begin setting up transport and communications links to bring in further aid and relief staff. MAF are a support to many well recognised charities what use MAF aircraft to be able to do their work. I could go on...
I'm going to be riding as part of an 11 person team of MAF supporters and staff this September. It's going to be tough for me as I'm a bit of a lapsed cyclist (since I bought a car in 2008) and the training is proving quite painful.
I'm very interested to know who else cares about MAF and the work they do. All donations however small are greatly appreciated.
A thank you to CSE Citation Centre my employer who are giving me some days off to do this cycle ride.
A note on event finance: I will be donating enough money to cover the cost of the event myself so you can know that 100% of your donation will go to MAF.
