Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I'm hosting a fundraising ceilidh for the Special Care Baby Unit in Inverness and Ronald MacDonald House in Glasgow.  However, many of you have already expressed an interest in donating hence the page.

As many of you will know, our son, Alexander was born 8 weeks early with a serious infection (listeria) and excess fluid on his brain (Hydrocephalus).  He had surgery to place a 'shunt' into his brain to drain the fluid at 4 weeks old.  Since then he has gone from strength to strength and become the very cheeky wee chap that many of you will know.

The SCBU unit in Inverness is a very special place, with extremely well trained and caring staff who do tremendous work both with sick babies and their family members. We will forever be in their debt.  We also spent two weeks in Ronald MacDonald House in Glasgow - 200 yards from the entrance to York Hill Sick Kids Hospital (where he received his shunt). This place was an absolute god send and a fantastic facility for all that use it.

Money raised will go direct to the SCBU unit (not NHS Highland) and Ronald MacDonald House.

Thank you so much for donating, it means so much to us that you care  - SCBU units around the country do so much for so many families.

Hopefully we'll see you at the ceilidh as well!!
