Earlier this year I lost my dad to cancer. Not only was he my dad, he was also my best friend in the entire world, and needless to say my heart is in pieces.
St Luke's Hospice in Cheshire was an absolute godsend, and I will be forever indebted to them for the care and support they provided my dad, and our family, throughout his illness. They continue to devote their time and resources entirely selflessly, to help make those who are suffering that little bit more comfortable.
When seven of my friends from the University of Birmingham Ballroom and Latin American Dance Society asked if they could run the hellish 11 mile muddy obstacle course in memory of my father, and raise funds for the incredible hospice that helped us so much, I was absolutely stunned and extremely emotional.
So I will be running with them. And whilst this run is my idea of a living nightmare, I'm so determined to do my dad's memory, and the hospice, proud.
***UPDATE! Enrica has decided she can't let her sister go it alone... She says I might get stuck in the mud! So she will be running with us too (and inevitably looking after her little sis!)***
If you can spare anything at all, please please donate to our cause. We will be forever grateful. Alessandra xx
