Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I know first-hand the great work that Malaria Consortium do on the ground in the fight against malaria, neglected tropical diseases and childhood illnesses. I've seen it with my own eyes the impact that its work has on some of the most vulnerable communities in Africa and Asia. However, around half a million people still die each year from malaria, most under the age of five. Any number is unacceptable for a disease that is completely preventable and treatable, but this number remains shocking.
Please support me as I run the London Marathon in aid of Malaria Consortium. Any amount is massively welcome. Here’s what money can buy in the fight against this disease:
£5 pays for a long-lasting insecticide treated net (LLIN), protecting 2 lives for up to 3 years
£10 pays for 200 rapid diagnostic tests for malaria
£25 is enough to train a volunteer to test for and treat malaria
£50 can buy, deliver and hang mosquito nets to help at least 20 children sleep safe
£100 can buy malaria tests and treatment to help 100 children who are sick
I'm going through over 6 months of pain, early mornings and non-weekends in my bid to beat my previous marathon PB of 3 hours 24 minutes and your support will certainly spur me on to achieve this.
