Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

St. Luke's Church,  Hickling is a beautiful Grade 1 listed historic church in the centre of our small village.  It is fully involved in village life, used each week for services, coffee mornings, bellringing practices, with frequent use by the village choir, for weddings, baptisms, funerals, and community events.  We want to care for the building and its life so that it can pass it on to future generations.

The tower was rebuilt in the Victorian era and has a wonderful clock which was provided by the villagers of the time.  This still has to be wound manually 3 times a week by today's residents, pulling up the heavy weights.  We hope to have an electric motor installed to do this, which will cost about £5000, so any money raised will go toward this.

We hope to visit about 20 churches and cycle about 60 km in the day.

Thank you for any support you can give.

About the charity

The NHCT Sponsored Ride and Stride takes place every year on the second Saturday in September and involves chucrhes in chapels in the county who open doors for visitors who travel from place to place by cycling. It raises money which are used to help fund essential repairs to buildings of worship.
