Story
My names Alex Woolliscroft and I'm 20 from Staffordshire in England.
In August of this year I'm planning to do one thing that I have never before done I'm my life for each of the 31 days in August. That means that I will be trying 31 different skills/experiences within one month, ranging from something as small as learning to use chopsticks, to things as big as attending the commonwealth games in Glasgow.
Im doing this to raise money and awareness for a charity that as an actor in training feel very close to. The charity is called The Royal Theatrical Fund who every year provides support for over 400 people of all ages who have worked in the entertainment industry. They are people in need as a result of illness, accident or old age.
The Fund assists by way of monthly allowance, one off grants, help with domestic bills and shortfalls in nursing and residential home fees. The Directors are aware that many artistes find it hard to seek assistance. The desire to maintain independence in their own homes is understood and respected, as is complete confidentiality and a warmly compassionate response to any appeal.
As I am currently training as an actor, I understand how scary the prospect of being out of work can be, especially if the reason you're out of work is because you have an illness or are unable to, so I hope to raise as much money as I can for them, so they can keep on giving help to those people who really need it.
