OK so I've been in Newcastle a decade and I thought it was about time I took the plunge and did the GNR! I have been secretly hoping I wouldn't get a place... but I did... so time to dig deep and pay to see me it sweat out for 13 miles!!
As a lot of you know Nepali Children's Trust support a centre for disabled children in Kathmandu, Nepal, called Disabled Newlife Centre (DNC).
DNC was seriously damaged by the devastating earthquake last year, and with the onset of rainy season and the continuing aftershocks, it's only recently that the children, many of whom have limited mobility and are wheelchair users, have been able to move out of the tent and into the building again.
On top of this recent construction on the road next to the centre has caused further damage to the building.
DNC is an incredible organisation that provides education, medical attention, physiotherapy and a home to disabled children often from extremely isolated areas with no medical support in Nepal, and they need the support now more than ever.
