I am hoping to take part in the Year2Bless internship with BlessNet for the France part of my year abroad next year, in order to complete the requirements for the third year of my Modern Languages degree at Durham University. Unfortunately, I did not realise until after I fell completely in love with the idea of the internship that it was going to cost £1,200 with a £400 deposit to be paid as soon as possible...

As I only became a Christian in February of this year, I was so excited at the prospect of spending a year on mission in France not only enhancing my language skills, but learning how I can use these to serve. The programme works alongside bible study sessions and outreach projects, which had seemed to be just what I needed, especially as a new Christian, to grow in faith and to help me overcome my personal spiritual hurdles. I was so grateful to Caroline and everyone at Bless when I received my offer, that I would get the opportunity to take time out of focusing on deadlines, essays and exams to really give my faith all the attention it requires.

However, without the generosity of others I will not be able to take part in the internship, and will have to seek a last minute placement (most likely in a secular office), which would not give me the time to explore my faith that I am passionate to have. Therefore, as someone very hesitant to ask for financial help, I would like to make a plea for donations which goes completely against my usual reservations. Anything you can give will be appreciated an incomprehensible amount, and if you cannot afford to donate, I will be just as grateful for all your prayers!
