A number of people have contacted me regarding gifts. If you have gift, great. Equally, if you haven't, your presence is more than enough. You can also make a small donation in our name to support work for Syrian Refugees carried out by the Jesuit Refugee Service.
As many of you know, Johan and I lived in Lebanon from 2010 to 2012. I worked there teaching Syrian children. During the time we were in Lebanon, Syria unravelled in a frightening way. Since we left, over 1 million Syrian refugees have arrived in Lebanon.
One organisation that works with the Syrian refugee situation is the Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS). I worked with this organisation in Brussels several years ago (it was during this time that Johan and I met). I cannot speak highly enough of the way JRS fulfil their mission of helping refugees regardless of faith. Read here about their work in Syria here:
