Story

A number of people have contacted me regarding gifts. If you have gift, great. Equally, if you haven't, your presence is more than enough. You can also make a small donation in our name to support work for Syrian Refugees carried out by the Jesuit Refugee Service.

As many of you know, Johan and I lived in Lebanon from 2010 to 2012. I worked there teaching Syrian children. During the time we were in Lebanon, Syria unravelled in a frightening way. Since we left, over 1 million Syrian refugees have arrived in Lebanon.

One organisation that works with the Syrian refugee situation is the Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS). I worked with this organisation in Brussels several years ago (it was during this time that Johan and I met). I cannot speak highly enough of the way JRS fulfil their mission of helping refugees regardless of faith. Read here about their work in Syria here:

We would highly appreciate if you could make a small donation in our name supporting JRS work in Syria.

We especially work with detained asylum seekers and destitute asylum seekers. This work then feeds into our campaigning and lobbying activities at a local, national and international level.
