Story
Dear friends,
I am running the Royal Parks Half Marathon in London on 9 Oct to raise money for Young Women’s Trust. This is a small but growing charity which supports women aged 16-30 struggling to live on low or no pay in England and Wales and who are at risk of being trapped in poverty.
I really like their free coaching service called “Work It Out” where disadvantaged young women get 1-on-1 professional help with CV's, interview preparations and any other support which increases their confidence and employability. Results after the first year from women who used Work It Out include:
- 90% said they felt more confident
- 80% acted on ideas discussed with their coaches
- 67% said it helped them into employment
In 2015, Young Women's Trust reached 300 women. They aim to expand their reach to 500 by the end of this year with a minimum target of bringing 60% into employment. By the end of 2020 the goal is to reach 1500 women per year. This of course requires funding so your support is highly appreciated.
You can donate via this page or text XYZW99 £10 (or £1, £2, £3, £4, £5) to 70070.
Any amount, small or large, will go a long way towards improving young women's lives.
