Story
As you know we sadly lost Alan to cancer on May 5th 2016 aged 9 years old after an heroic battle. I also lost my father Michael to melanoma in 1993 at the age of 51. Those of you that knew him know how incredibly lucky I was to have had such a wonderful charismatic man to call my Dad. We were very close and even though lived in different parts of the country we met up regularly for many outdoor pursuits to include rock climbing, sailing, skiing, walking, camping, Venture Scouts, pot holing and lots of beer drinking which resulted in falling in holes on our way back to campsites.
This Clisham climb is perfect as it is a none ticked off item on Alan's bucket list and something my Father and I would have done if we were able, his vintage Berghaus rucksack will make the trip with me with my lunch in it.
Climbing this without Alan will be a sad day for me but I owe it to him to do this and if I can raise some money for a good cause in his name then it will be an honour and I know that he will be with me every step of the way.
My Father died pre internet and now he his out in cyberspace.
