Story

Hi my name is Alissa,

I was driving along the road with my mum, when a squirrel had been hit, it was limping across the road trying to get to safety. We turned around to try and help the squirrel but unfortunately the car on the other side of the road hit it, it was dead when we reached it.

This really upset me and I wished I could invent a sensor on cars to detect animals, so people could stop or slow down, but as this is not possible I had to think of how I could help the wildlife.  More and more on the land is being built on, taking away the homes of the animals, making this more dangerous for them.

The only way I felt I could help is to fundraise, to support the Wildlife rescue centre.  I choose Oak and Furrows as they have never turned away an animal I have taken to them for treatment.  I will be doing many events offline as well, to support this cause.

Oak and Furrows are based in Wiltshire, they became a registered charity in 2006. Annually the centre takes in over 3,000 wildlife casualties. Oak and furrows offers 24 hour Wildlife rescue service, 7 days a week, all year round.

The centre relies on donations to survive and does not receive any government funding.

Their aim is to provide care for wild animals in need so that they can be returned to the wild fit and healthy for a second chance.

So if you believe in helping support the wildlife, then please donate for this cause through my just giving page.

I will update you via my twitter page and here of events I do and what I achieve.

Lot's of love Alissa and the Wildlife xx.
