Story
As a family we just spent an incredible 3 months in the beautiful country of Uganda. We met some amazing people and saw some heart-breaking stories of children; like a lovely boy called Solomon who has cerebal palsy and spends all day lying naked in the dust outside his home, or Regan, an 8 year old, who was so malnourished that he was the size of a 9 month old baby. Medical care for children like these is so limited and cost prohibitive for the majority. However, there are wonderful organisations like Acheru that are truly making a difference to children's lives. It seems only right on my 40th birthday that instead of receiving gifts, I might ask for a donation to be made to help children like Solomon and Regan - and many others. Our hope is that one day a mobile clinic could be set up in the Kayunga district where these boys live. At 40, it seems that I am finally All Grown-Up; I would love my birthday celebrations to help some children in Uganda grow up with a more hopeful future too.
