Story
In a few days time I'll be celebrating my 25th birthday. It's been an absolutely amazing 25 years. This is the first time since my teenage years that I've been cheeky enough to ask for a gift: help me fundraise £250 for Gingerbread. That's £10 for every year I've lived so far!
Gingerbread is a charity that helps lone-parents. They provide advice and support, and carry out campaigns and research.
Why am I fundraising for them? I was born and raised in East London by my mum and dad. 15 years ago my father passed away. My mum raised my sister and I as a lone parent. Luckily we had the support of my aunts and uncles, our schools and family friends. There are many lone-parent families who aren't as lucky. Gingerbread helps those families, mothers, fathers and children. They're doing great work and making an impact on families' lives across the country.
