Story

We are launching a building project that will create a permanent home for the Amahoro former street kids. This permanent home for the boys will facilitate Amahoro children being able to support themselves financially for the long term. A new home will be constructed on the 215 acre Gateway Youth Ranch one hour outside of Kampala. We are devoted to ministering to orphans by empowering them and developing the infrastructures necessary to create economic solutions (farming, agriculture, small business start-ups, etc... with them to sustain them in the future.

Others have already made initial investment in property, livestock and developing a source of clean drinking water.  This home and other future homes will be set up as communities with each child contributing to sustainable activities (gardening, livestock, caring for one another, etc.).

The home for our 25-40 younger kids will cost $70K to complete. $25K is already secured and once we have the remaining $45K in hand we will begin construction – which will take about 3 months.

As you pray about year-end Kingdom investments, please consider helping us with the next phase of our vision. I have also attached our banking info if you consider this,

Thank you, God bless you and Merry Christmas!

About Caleb Rukundo

Caleb - a former street child himself, is the founder and director of Amahoro Community Development Initiative - a network of children’s homes in Kampala Uganda. These homes for former street children were founded with the vision to help create/establish a conducive, receptive, integrative child-centered family of young people, who will committee themselves to transforming their own lives, communities and nation with the love of God.

Caleb grew up on the streets of Kampala. Today he reaches out to those who live on the streets, to help them on their individual journeys of transformation. In understanding his own route to wholeness, Caleb has designed an intervention that is simple yet transformative, sustainable and scalable.
