Story

Thank you for visiting my JustGiving page, any help you can give is really appreciated.

Everyone who knows Helen thinks she’s pretty special but in 2006, in the most harrowing of circumstances, we discovered just how unique she is. Helen was critically ill when she was diagnosed as one of the tiny group of people in the UK with Churg-Strauss Syndrome – an inflammatory disease of the small and medium blood vessels.

Helen’s irrepressible spirit saw her fight very hard to return to her full life of family, friends, work, the arts, travel and adventures.  A decade on, she has to remain ever vigilant, all too well aware of what her disease can do to her.  Despite the mountain of pills and regular hospital tests that are part of her life, Helen keeps us all in awe of how lightly she carries this to remain the woman we know – smart, lively, engaged and much more interested in helping and supporting those around her.

So please support Helen’s favourite Professor, David Isenberg, in his battle to beat this condition through the Rheumatology Discretionary Fund UCL charity.
