We support research to improve the quality of life for children

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On September 24th, I will be taking part in Hever Castle Triathlon, which is the largest triathlon for children in the world. It takes place at Hever Castle, the childhood home of Anne Boleyn and includes a 100m lake swim, 4km bike ride and 1.3 km run.

This year, I am raising money for ReMission. ReMission supports the research of the paediatric rheumatology clinical teams at Great Ormond Street Hospital.

I have chosen this charity because 6 months ago, one of my best (and oldest - we met when I was 16 days old!) friends was diagnosed with JDM. Juvenile Dermatomyositis (JDM) is an autoimmune disease affecting approximately 3 children in every million per year. Muscles weakness and skin rash are the main symptoms of JDM but it affects every child differently.

My friend is doing well but I want to raise money for and awareness of JDM.

Please support me with a small donation, if you are able.

Thank you,
Amelie
