Story
Back in 2013 I had some serious wankle issues which saw me pull out of both the London Marathon, and the Yorkshire Marathon.
3 years on, with literally hundreds of pounds of physio on said wankle I'm back and ready to give you all the marathon you deserve to see me do!
I'm raising money for Fanconi Hope UK, whilst raising awareness for NHS Organ Donation. My brother was diagnosed with Fanconi Anaemia back in 1999. Fanconi Anaemia is a rare auto-immune disease with no known cure. Since then he has had two bone marrow transplants, the long term effects of which were the development of Bronchiolitis Obliterans Syndrome in his lungs. BOS can only be cured via lung transplantation which is, unfortunately, no longer an option for Andrew.
When he was younger my brother was a keen runner with a lot of potential. I've never been a runner, these thick thighs and fat bottom were built for cycling, not running. Now, inspired my brother, I am going to take on this huge challenge to raise as much money as possible for research into this disease ensuring that future patients and their families don't have to suffer.
