Story
In September 2011 a great guy was taken away from us in a traffic accident, at the mere age of 27; Alan Crompton.. or Cromps as he was known to many.
Cromps was one of my closest friends and was an amazing guy. He had a smile that would light up the room, and he had a brilliant way with people. He was funny, kind, caring, and a little bit crazy! He was an incredibly supportive friend and always reassured me that my dreams were achievable.
I have wanted to climb Ben Nevis ever since I first dropped my boyfriend Lee off at the bottom of it 3 years ago. Fitness is not my strong point, and Cromps always believed I could do it, so with the help of Lee, and the loving memory of my friend Cromps - I will be tackling this beast of a mountain on 4th May 2013. It stands at 1,344m - the highest mountain I have done so far is Inglebrough that stands at half that!
I have chosen to do it for the Royal Engineers Association charity, as Cromps was a member of the RE's and it was not only something that he excelled at, but also something that he loved. The money I raise will go to great lengths to assist those also affected by loss of a loved one.
Please give generously - it is greatly appreciated :) xx
