Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page
Our daughter Olivia was born in July 2012 with severe disabilities and medical complexities. As time went on, she became more so. A lengthily list of medications, therapies & medical professionals involved in her care. This world didn't come with a guide, as parents we learned more through other parents than some official routes. These links were mostly made possible through BDCPS and Keech Hospice. They also gave practical support and advice, not least offering the help of their amazing staff, including one particular special lady who has become more like a family member during her time with our baby girl. She is herself so very special. Full of love and kindness for our special children. Anyone who knows her, adores her! BDCPS are an organisation that breaks down the barriers to disabilities (and has great fun with our children whilst doing so). This can do positive attitude and determination towards changing attitudes towards disabilities most definitely flows throughout, from the top lady (she's a marvel!), to all their wonderful volunteers.
Sadly, our sweet child Olivia lost her battle for life on the 3rd of October 2016 (and my gosh she fought so hard).
Despite her difficulties Olivia was such a happy, smiley, little girl. A truly beautiful soul. I know if she could have said, she would have wanted something positive to come from our bereavement. As a result, we have decided to set up this just giving page for anyone who wished to raise money for such a fabulous charity, in her memory.
We will also have a joint collection at her funeral, but after being asked what people could do to help, we thought this fitting. Giving BDCPS the opportunity to continue to help families like ours, knowing Olivia left her mark, like she did on all our lives.
