Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
We are raising money for Burnley Neonatal Unit, which provided amazing care for Rosie after she arrived unexpectedly at just 25 weeks and 3 days – more than 3 months premature.
Rosie was a tiny handful, weighing just 1lb 4oz. She spent 50 days in intensive care (ventilated for 37 of those), fighting for her life, and then another 47 days in high dependency. In total she was in hospital, first Burnley then Wythenshawe, for 150 days. But miraculously, despite the odds, she very slowly grew bigger and stronger. Every day the consultants patiently explained everything to us as we lurched from one crisis to the next – lung problems, heart problems, blood pressure, sepsis, blood transfusions; the list was endless.
Every time we see her now, smiling, laughing, running about the house and generally making mischief, we have the amazing doctors and nurses at Burnley to thank for it. She’s a happy little baby and, as far as we know, has no major long-term health problems.
Now we want to give something back - and although nothing we ever say or do can truly repay what the medics did for us - we hope that we can make some small difference to the lives of the many other parents that may go through the same experience we did.
Please give as much as you can, we know it will make a difference to the Neonatal Unit.
Thank you - Rosie's Runners!
