Story
I lost my dad Paul 'skiddy' very suddenly to ischaemic heart disease on the 25th of July 2015, like a bolt out the blue he left us unexpectedly during a walk over the park with my wonderful mum, my son Reuben and mac the dog. He had a history of cardiac disease suffering from his first heart attack at the age of just 34, we were told at the time we would be very lucky if he survived but he surpassed all expectation and made a full recovery. Through the love guidance and support of action heart at Russell's hall hospital he found a passion for running which became not only a life line but a hobby he was very fond of. He went on to take part in many organised races raising money for action heart, after such a servers cardiac arrest he surprised cardiac consultants and went on to run several London marathons again with all funds raised going to action heart. 6 years ago he began to suffer with chest pain and was told he needed a triple heart bypass, his sheer grit and determination is what pulled him through and gradually his fitness improved allowing him to take part in his beloved runs, Action heart were at the centre of his rehabilitation and for this reason as a family we are eternally grateful as his life could have been cut even shorter was it not for him finding a love for fitness and running. To date in his memory we have raised over £8000 please please help me to increase this total...
If dad could do a marathon after a heart attack at the age of 26 I surely can.....
Thanking you in advance, all my love Amy xxx
