Story
My daughter Maisie was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at a few months old. I found her unconscious in her cot after she'd had several seizures. She has left sided paralysis, epilepsy and speech and language difficulties and also mental health issues. Her development has been impaired but she has struggled on and found a lot of enjoyment swimming. She qualified to compete at an international level last year but sadly has not been in the best of health since. She is returning to swim in the Cerebral Palsy national championships on the 3/04 this year after time out. We are praying she can get back into the sport she loves which provides a crucial outside interest for her and allows her to succeed.
CP sport is the country’s leading national disability sports organisation supporting people with cerebral palsy reach their sporting potential. "Our vision is that everyone with physical disabilities is able to access a sport of their choice. Our mission is to improve the quality of life for people with physical impairments through the provision of appropriate sport and recreational activities".
