Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
On our way to rowing camp in France we were involved in a serious road traffic accident, this March our car lost control and resulted in serious injuries , which required an air ambulance for Ashley.
Did you know it costs £2500 for a single air rescue? The 'golden hour' period is vital to get to a trauma center to reduce the longer term effects. The air ambulance is funded solely by charity and it really makes all the difference.
In February we competed in our first national competition "the British University Championships", where we came second. We brought back the only medal for our university, which was a proud moment for all of us, including our coach and team. Three out of the four of our team were involved in the accident and spending all that time together made us not just training partners but great friends. We worked very hard for it, most days on the River Trent, so saw it fitting that we should cycle in the gym the length of the river (298km). Still with injuries (Andrea in a body sling and Charlotte in a cast) and inspired by Ashley's strength and determination we want to complete this challenge over a 20 day period.
We really appreciate any donations, whether big or small, it is the thought that counts and hopefully we will reach our £2500 target.
