Always in the background, St John Ambulance provides an essential emergency first aid service for local sports and community events all over the UK. Having hung up my marathon running shoes in 2014, this year, I have been dragged out of marathon retirement to raise funds for St John in the 2016 Virgin London Marathon. Having run six road marathons, three 20 mile cross country events and countless half marathons and 10ks over the last 8 years, I never cease to be amazed at the tremendous support that St John provides. I count myself lucky that I have never had to call on their services, but many have. My turn to put something back for this fantastic charity! I hope that you will be able to support.
